DESCRIPTION:Time & Location\nAug 04\, 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM PDT\nZoom Webinar \nAbout The Event\nFriday\, August 4\, 2023 \n9am-3pm- CEU/Speaker Presentation \n*12-1pm Lunch (on your own) \n* = non-CEU portion of course \nCourse meets the qualifications for 5 hours of continuing education credit for LMFTs\, LCSWs\, LPCCs\, and/or LEPs. CEU completion certificates will be awarded after participants complete the course evaluation after the speaker presentation. \nLocation: Online \nZoom details\, along with the course evaluation\, will be emailed to you after you have registered and paid for this workshop. Once the workshop is over\, you will need to email the course evaluation in order to receive your CEUs. \nWorkshop Description: This workshop is focused on working with trauma (predominately sexual abuse) from a somatic perspective- with a focus on working with sensations held in the body\, gestures\, movement\, etc. You will learn how to work with body sensations and bring balance back to the nervous system. \nLearning Objectives- participants will be able to: \n1.) Identify what trauma is and the impact on the body \n2.) Identify at least 3 symptoms of how trauma shows up in the body \n3.) Describe 2 defense mechanisms that can be seen through the body \n4.) Identify 3 tools to help clients manage symptoms of hyper-arousal and hypo-arousal \n5.) Prepare clients in processing their traumas through the body \nPasadena Trauma Therapy\, Inc. is approved by the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists (CAMFT) to sponsor continuing education for MFTs\, LCSWs\, and LPCCs.
